Ellen Sofie Griegel (f. 1975) er en Trondheimsbasert kunstner som arbeider med skulptur, installasjon og grafikk. Hun er utdannet ved Kunst- og designhøgskolen i Bergen (MFA 2007), og skaper sine verk av metall, tre og funne materialer. Griegel utforsker samspillet mellom natur, teknologi og samfunn. Hun er spesielt opptatt av naturens egne rytmer, slik som vannets kretsløp, døgnrytmen, livssyklusen og årstidene. Gjennom disse prosessene prøver hun å gi form til opplevelser og spørsmål rundt det å være menneske.
Ellen Sofie Griegel (b. 1975) is a Trondheim-based artist working with sculpture, installation, and printmaking. She graduated from the Bergen Academy of Art and Design (MFA 2007) and creates her work using metal, wood, and found materials. Griegel explores the interplay between nature, technology, and society. She is particularly interested in nature’s own rhythms, such as the water cycle, circadian rhythms, life cycles, and the seasons. Through these processes, she seeks to give form to experiences and questions surrounding human existence.
